Today I was very hurt
I felt everyone was against me
I was ready to fight
I was defensive
I judged people
Then I asked myself what I was doing
Was I being true to whom I say I am?
Did I really want to remember today as a day I was just bitter
Did I just want to waste today because of some people
Can I truly not love these people?
Then I answered myself
Child, you can love. You need to forgive. Today is a gift that you should accept and cherish as it is God’s creation.
Then I smiled and ignored all the fiery darts coming my way
I am a child of God wonderfully and fearfully made
I will rejoice in this day
I will rejoice evermore.
